Portland
Gentrification is in full swing.

Heading to Portland
Got stuck for 2 days Hitchhiking outside crescent city. luckily walking along the road was by a beautiful river.
So got to swim in the morning and hange out with the trees and wildlife.
Found wild camping spots alongside the river, with plenty of sun for charging my camera battery's - though laptop still whont charge so little editing.
When finely I got a lift we were delayed for 3 hours by a logging truck turning over and spilling its load on a 30 mile an hour corner up in the mountains.

Arcata
Editing going slow due to sunshine
Farmers market in Arcata is a weekly community fest of alt-culture and performance in the town square, with lots of good food.
I interviewed the soon tobe green presidential candidate.
The town waist water is processed in a nature reserve - reedbed filtration - it provides a very rich habitat for visiting birds and recreation space for citizens.

Arcata seams to be hippy central, lots of small shops and cafes and it seams its the only town in the USA run by the green party? think I will stay for 3 days of layed back cafe society and see what happens - have some nice couchsurfer hosts to chase up to stay and hang out with.
Hitchhiking in the USA is very slow but the nicest people pick you up and you get to walk through some butifull landscape - and look at it for a long time...
swiming hole a nice driver droped me off at - I camp in a flower meadow just above it.
Camping in the sand dunes this is the morning view of the pacific.
Slow but seanic - might have to try the bus for next bit to Portland though...
Solar Vagabonding in California
Am vagabonding in California at moment were my solar system just failed - I use a 25W sunling pannal and a T Kkeon battery/transformer - its this second thats failed - think the panel is overloading it - worked fine in UK run/charged my camera and me laptop - this setup in theory should work, need some help trubble shooting the problem. All you need to get is a small cable modification to make it work - then a car charger for you camera battery's and you are go. Its a small simple plug and play, light wight setup.
